Clinical psychologist Dr. Shahieda Jansen previously managed the HPCSA accredited student counseling center of the University of the Western Cape, with oversight of counseling services to the student body and clinical supervision to master's level local and international psychology interns: 2008-2016.

Since October 2016 until the present, she is the Deputy Director of Academic & ICT Support at Unisa Western Cape.

Her clinical interests include the application of indigenous models of human nature and masculinized personal transformation for boys and men. Shahieda has been facilitating men’s groups, father-son interventions and individual therapy with boys and men for a decade and a half.
She is currently implementing a Unisa Western Cape region Community Engagement project: School Belonging for boys at two pilot schools in the Western Cape. In 2022 Unisa Press released her book, Masculinity Meets Humanity: An Adapted Model of Masculinised Psychotherapy.
